Been working on this one on and off for 2 weeks. I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, lots of stuff I feel I coulda done better, but I figured it was about time I considered it done and just moved on to something else.
Normally, this set of armor is supposed to have some sort of flap that extends from the collar down to the waist, to cover the stomach. But I didn't like the way it looked so I just went with the bare midriff. The shield is attached to the arm with what I can only assume is magic. Like 90% of games, there are no straps or handles on shields. It just sorta... sticks to the arm. And when you're moving, instead of an equiping animation, there's just this red flash and your shield/sword teleports to your arm/hand o.O So, yeah. I got lazy and did that instead of drawing the straps >.>
One thing I'm really proud of in this piece is the glossy/chrome effect on the armor. I took the time to do it all by hand instead of a half-assed shortcut using Photoshop filters, like I usually do. Turned out much better than expected.
The sky and the Abyss (pink light) were painted. Clouds and snowy landscape were made out of a pair of stock photos.
Took about 20 hours of work in total. Wouldn't be surprised if I end up adding more to that later on. >.>
Nice work. You put a lot of detail in the body, but I have to say it looks like you didn't put as much time into the face. Still very awesome work and much better than I can do, keep it up.

90% of teens would die if Bieber was on top of the CN Tower about 2 jump. 8.99% would shout: JUMP! 1% would push him. If you are the .01% that would stake him, then push him, copy and paste this to your sig.
Hmmm I'm not really sure what kind of tips I could give, but when using a texture, I always make sure the lighting that goes on top of it is as accurate as I can make it, so that the texture takes on a believable form. The goal is to make it look three-dimensional, or else they look flat and "pasted on".
I didn't quite nail it everywhere, but the best example I can give in this particular piece is the character's bust. The armor on her breasts looks form fitting, because the lighting on the armor matches the roundness of her breasts. By comparison, her shield looks quite flat, since I didn't get the lighting right on that part.
